Firefox 4 schlägt Internet Explorer 9

Firefox 4 hat Microsofts Internet Explorer 9 (IE9)erstmals auch in der weltweiten Nutzungsstatistik überholt. Der Mozilla-Browser erzielte laut Zahlen von Net Applications im März einen Anteil von 1,7 Prozent. Microsofts Browser kam, obwohl eine Woche früher veröffentlicht, auf 1,0 Prozent.

Ein wichtiger Vorteil für Firefox 4 ist, dass er auch unter Windows XP läuft. IE9 unterstützt nur Windows Vista und Windows 7. Das rund zehn Jahre alte XP wird noch von 54,4 Prozent der Internetnutzer verwendet. 24,2 Prozent greifen von Windows 7 aus auf das Internet zu. Vistas Anteil liegt bei 10,6 Prozent.
